Although Race Officer Chris Hadden and his team were able to get race three underway, the wind sadly began to destabilise again about a third of the way up the beat and so he wisely elected to abandon the race and call the competitors back.
From what we can see from the club balcony (see our photo above) and hear on the radio, there is currently a very light patch over the race course, and in the vicinity of the club the previously developing south easterly has shut down. The sun has also gone in and we now have a layer of hazy cloud stretching out to the horizon with only the occasionally break of blue sky. 😦
Stand by to stand by people. We might not know what’s going on with the weather, but we do know that the race committee will be doing absolutely everything it can to get racing underway. Chris Hadden is not a man to give up easily!
